I was extremely fortunate to be able to join the European leg of the Abacab tour for 12 shows. Eager to listen and learn from one of the greatest touring bands, ShowCo, Vari-Lite & the Genesis road crew, I remain grateful to this day.
In 1982, I was again given the opportunity to join Genesis and their crew for the whole of their Three Sides Live tour starting at the American production rehearsals in July, & eventually culminating at the 'Six Of The Best' Peter Gabriel reunion show in Milton Keynes in October. The tour and experience gained was life changing!
After a decade working in corporate travel, my first music tour was ironically with Peter Gabriel, as well as dealing with his private & Womad travel requirements. Over the next 10 years, I handled the travel logistics for many incredible festivals and shows around the world.
A true career highlight was landing the European travel contract for a then unknown artist. Together with her band and crew, we took the 'Jagged Little Pill' tour from 200 people at the first show, to over 150,000 in just 9 months as Alanis took the world by storm over an 18 month long tour!
The first tour I was working on for George was unfortunately cancelled following the infamous 'LA incident' in April. I’d known 'Yog' since we jammed together in bands at school. I continued to arrange his private and music realated travel until 2005, including the logictics for his famous Parkinson and Oprah TV appearences.
My first time as both manager and tour manager, we toured Europe together for 3 months with Saga, and supported Fish on a European tour. The band took the Sweden Rock Festival by storm and made several appearences. I continued booking and managing the band until 2008.
In addition to the booking flights, hotels, and dealing with the travel logistics on 40+ tours to date around the world, I also provide all social media & content management. We pioneered the 'California Cruising' tours and have provided sports car driving advantures for car clubs, magazines and private groups.
I was asked to tour manage the band after being re-introduced to Simon Collins (who I’d first met whilst with Genesis at his 6th Birthday party!) I went on to manage both the band and Simon personally, and overd two incredible years working together, completed two European tours, two music Cruises as well as North American TV and concert tours.
With a new transport venture, an early client was Sigala who was just breaking as a DJ / Producer / Writer. Over the next year I provided transport and travel logistics for all of his UK shows and stadium tours.
I was approached in 2013 and 2018 to tour manage the band, but due to my other contracts, it wasn't possible until February 2020.
Sadly, over the next two years, firstly due to the pandemic & then David Longdon’s tragic death, many tours that I put together for the band, were subsequently postponed or cancelled.
However, in 2022, we finally left the station with a series of highly acclaimed shows! In 2022, I was also delighted be asked to also handle the band's event and show bookings.
Big Big Train together with Music Tour Services have since completed two extensive European tours, a highly successful first American tour, as well as appearing on Cruise To The Edge, and at a number of major European festivals.
In 2025, the band will return to North America for a more extensive tour, a co-headline billing on Cruise To The Edge, as well as making their first visits to Canada & Portugal!
